Underground Magnetite Anodes МТ

Underground Anode МТ (Magnetite) is a low-solubility element of anodic grounding in the cathodic protection system to protect against corrosion impact on the main pipelines and other metallic underground structures. The device can be exploited in any soil climatic conditions at the ambient temperature 0 — +60°C. The installation of the Underground Magnetite Anodes does not require any tools, they are manually mounted in a well. No additional works are performed to develop the well area. Grounding Anodes МТ are placed both in closed and open wells. With low weight and features in their design, Grounding Anodes МТ show high performance in open wells with the static level of underground water. This type of Grounding Anode can be used in the reconstruction of the expired grounding anodes (GAZ) made from the steel tubes.

Design and Installation Recommendations

Design of Grounding Anode МТ exploits two types of magnetite anodes – terminal and passing anodes. A grounding anode consists of a chain of magnetite cable connected anodes. Here the cable serves to be a load-carrying element of the structure. A standard chain of the magnetite grounding anodes has 5 anodes with their centers being at 1.7 meters or at 3.4 meters from each other and a 25 meter long cable. The distance between the anodes should be increased to provide even distribution of the grounding anodes along the depth of the well. Several chains can be installed in one well. Total length of the cable depends on the depth of the well. The number of the anodes in a chain can vary from 1 to 5. This should be checked at the stage of sending a request.
